Pendulum of Tides

An interplay of gravity, rhythm and resonance. Our tidal pendulum translates the invisible influence of the moon into a movement that can be experienced through the senses: A pendulum fitted with a neodymium magnet swings above a bed of pins – the pins stand upside down in the metal grid and react to the magnetic field.
This interaction creates wave-like patterns reminiscent of the movement of water. Just as the moon influences the Earth’s tides through its gravitational pull, this object illustrates the fragile balance between order and dynamism. The resulting movement makes a cosmic phenomenon tangible – and invites contemplative observation of a steady rhythm.
